 The 11th Central European Diatom Meeting (CEDM) is scheduled to take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from September 19 to 22, 2024. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. This event will bring together researchers and experts in diatomology to discuss recent advancements and findings in the field of diatom research.


The meeting will feature a series of presentations, poster sessions, and discussions on various topics related to diatoms, including their diversity, ecology, and evolution. Additionally, there will be a focus on diatoms in cryospheric ecosystems, highlighting their role and adaptations in cold environments such as glaciers and polar regions.


 
CE-DiatoM is an international platform of annual meetings held at different places in Europe additionally to the bi-annual meetings of the International Society for Diatom Research. The first CE-DiatoM was held in 2007 in Berlin and was the result of a joint meeting of  German Speaking Diatomists (DDT) and several other groups of European diatomists.The meeting offers a platform for both oral and poster presentations.
